The Aim Of The Orange T Shirt
When it comes to dangerous work situations like road works, construction, window washing and so forth, the presence of the orange t-shirt is not to be dismissed. It has been utilized specifically for the sake of safety. It assists in making the person visible and clearly seen especially in places where there is a high density of traffic and other dangerous situations of work. It is not a choice, but a requirement.
It has gone through many changes to this day. The changes referred to are the materials from which it is made. It is work-men's (and women's) gear and has therefore been in the business of catering to that need. It needs to be tough and durable and in many instances it needs to have reflective elements. Many manufacturers also have different types of materials they use for the t-shirts as well as the safety vest.
One element regarding the safety t-shirt is that of comfort. It is high priority as the workers often have to work long hours and will inevitably sweat a lot. With this particular make it is manufactured from a soft material that is moisture wicked at the same time. It simply means that it would draw the moisture away from the body and will keep the body cool in heat and warm in the cold. This material is therefore not the same as the others that are usually cotton or polyester.
Added to its specialty, it also has the reflective tape attached to it. This is a requirement by law and everyone in the mentioned industries has to comply by the law. The color orange has been proven to be a better choice for visibility and, hence, makes for better safety.
The shirts have reflective strips which run over the shoulders like braces and one running around the body horizontally. This is done to fulfill the requirements of the ANSI Class 2 regulation. There is the second type where there are two strips running around horizontally and that fulfills the ANSI Class 3 requirement. What this does is that there is the degree of safety which is required and the latter gives more visibility.
The normal t-shirt can be worn but will, however, not fulfill in the law requirement and your safety will be at stake. There is also a definite financial difference between the two types. The polyester, breathable ones are good, but you will need more layering with it so that the body does not freeze in winter.
There are many different styles available and you do get long or short sleeves as well. You would be required to wear a safety vest especially if there are no reflective stripes. It is important for your own safety to wear clothing that befits your profession, especially if you work in one of the dangerous jobs mentioned previously.
Even though there are different colors available in the safety range, the safety t shirts has the most visible elements. It works well with all visibility problems and at all patterns of the weather on the t-shirts as well as the safety vests.
