Strumming Patterns Guitar - Down Up Left Or Right?

It's always a good thing to see one of your favorite guitar players playing a great lick or an amazing solo. Not only it fits wonderfully inside the melody or chord progression, but they make it look simple and straightforward! All the energy goes into very good moves and abnormal facial expressions. Several reasons lead to this. First, they composed the solo. Looks totally obvious but when you compose something on your own it's always easier to play, compared to figuring out someone else's material.

Second, they already have figured out proper dexterity between the right and left hand. This enables them to shift their focus on to other facets of their playing, like tone, fluency and you guessed it... brilliant rock moves!

This is achieved by a large amount of practice, and also by the indisputable fact that at some point the guitar player will likely have fully understood and discovered the best way to move and position his hands to make everything easy to play. And you know what? Much of the time when someone makes it seem simple, it generally is easier for them to perform. Having said that it can be incredibly irritating when you're endeavoring to play that exact same lick and you simply are unable to work it out.

It's only natural to feel that during a guitar solo, the majority of the work is carried out with the left hand. Because of this, one aspect that the majority of people have trouble with in the beginning is the right hand movement. The thing is though, when you fully learn the movement of the right hand you will not feel the need to take a look over to your right, to assure everything's great. You will have confidence in your right hand, that way you will be fully competent to focus on your left hand and make whatever you play sound and look simple and easy.

So while not obvious, understanding strum patterns for guitar and thereby learning how you can control, position and move your right hand could just be what you require to be a rock star....other than rock moves that is!
