Blitzen Trapper Live on KCRW – American Goldwing (KCRW)
Portland’s Blitzen Trapper ushered us gently into a new week with a set of
folk music, including the excellent title track off their new album “American
Goldwing”. After seeing Ryan Adams last week, I was right and ready for the
harmonica/acoustic guitar combo and some nice bluesy guitar licks. Although
it’s delivered in bite-sized bits instead of extended jams, their music is
definitely for fans of the Grateful Dead. They were capping off a 7-week tour
when they walked into our studios this morning, including a date with LA’s own
